Academy Policies & Procedures Contract

Acceptance and Placement:

  • Mrs. Knight reserves the right to assess and place each student in the appropriate class, companion lesson or private lesson.

  • Private and companion lesson slots are limited and not all students will qualify for a private lesson.

  • Reserving a lesson slot can ONLY be done by completing this contract and providing the first month’s tuition payment. Students who choose to take a break from lessons or classes will NOT be guaranteed a spot if/when they return unless the time slot has been reserved and the monthly tuition payment has been paid in full.

  • Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis. Mrs. Knight reserves the right to fill private lessons, companion lesson and group lessons at her discretion.

Attendance:

  • Students, please arrive 5 minutes before your appointed class time. If a student is late to class 3 or more times in a month that student will be dismissed from his/her lessons or class for the semester or session.

  • In consideration of other students’ lessons/classes, please pick up your child in a timely manner. Students who have finished with their lesson/class may wait in the entry up to 10 minutes for their ride. If a student remains at the studio longer than 10 minutes unsupervised, he/she will be charged for an additional half hour lesson.

  • If a student is unable to attend a lesson, he/she may submit a recording of their current assignment via Google Classroom for instructor comments. Students work will be reviewed and a new assignment will be issued online.

  • In case of illness, please contact your instructor or the office manager via email or classroom 24 hours before the scheduled class or lesson time. A student’s monthly tuition will NOT be altered based upon attendance.

  • Please do not bring your child to their lesson if they have a persistent cough, fever (of any kind), runny nose, etc. Instead, please take advantage of our online lesson opportunities or group make-up classes for absent students.

  • Missed lessons WILL NOT be made up individually. Group make-up classes will be offered at the Academy’s discretion throughout the year. Dates and times will be announced on the Academy’s calendar on our website and in the Academy’s Band app. Please see the office manager for details.

  • With Mrs. Knight’s permission, private students may switch/trade lesson times with another private student or attend a friend’s lesson with their permission.

  • With Mrs. Knight’s permission, group class students may attend a different class at the Academy to “makeup” for a missed class.

  • The Academy reserves the right to cancel in-person lessons at any time and for any reason. If in-person lessons are canceled, classes may be offered on line (live) or via an online submission in Google Classroom.

  • The length of ALL classes and lessons will be listed on the Academy’s website. Mrs. Knight reserves the right to adjust the length of any class or lesson at any time.

  • The Academy will be closed for ALL national holidays. Any additional closures (i.e. weather or illness) will be announced on the Academy’s social media pages, the Band app and in Google Classroom.
